Our Voice, Our Health: the CPSSF launches its first ever strategic planning process

Shaping the future of French language health services in Ontario

Ottawa, September 8, 2026 – The French Language Health Planning Centre (CPSSF) is launching its first strategic planning process, an important milestone that coincides with the celebration of its first year of existence. Held under the theme “Our voice, our health,” this exercise invites Ontario’s Francophone communities to jointly define the priorities that will guide the Centre’s actions over the next four years.

“One year ago, the CPSSF was created with an ambitious vision: to contribute to a more equitable health system for Ontario’s Francophones. Today, I want to recognize the exceptional commitment of our team and our partners. As we begin our first strategic planning exercise, we have an opportunity to define together a vision for the future that will benefit Francophones,” says Lise Bourgeois, Chair of the Board of Directors of the CPSSF.

“This first anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate what has been accomplished, but also to look ahead with confidence. By launching our first strategic planning process, we are opening a new chapter in the CPSSF’s history. Together, we will set the directions that will allow us to strengthen our impact on access to equitable, high-quality French language health services,” adds Natalie Aubin, Chief Executive Officer of the CPSSF and Vice-President at Montfort, Ontario’s Francophone academic hospital.

Over the coming weeks and months, the CPSSF will meet with communities, patients and caregivers, health service providers, partners and health system stakeholders to hear about their realities, understand their priorities and gather their aspirations.

The perspectives gathered will directly inform the directions of the 2028-2031 Strategic Plan, which will be made public in the fall of 2027 with a view to implementation beginning in 2028.

To support this exercise, the CPSSF has established a 34-member advisory committee. The committee’s mandate is to validate and inform the Centre’s strategic directions and priorities, help identify emerging issues and bring a front-line and sectoral perspective. Its composition ensures representation from the East, North East, North West, Centre, Toronto and West regions of Ontario.

About the CPSSF

The French Language Health Planning Centre is mandated to modernize and improve healthcare services and outcomes for francophones. It has oversight of planning, policies, programs, funding and resource decisions. Announced by the Government of Ontario in June 2025 and co-created by the Assemblée de la francophonie de l’Ontario (AFO) and Hôpital Montfort, the CPSSF is governed by an independent Board and has employees located in each of the six regions of Ontario Health.
